Infrastructure Minister on Tskaltubo Project: Revived Resort will Bring Unprecedented Effect onto Our Region

“I would like to welcome this initiative and stress its special importance and unprecedented scales of charity”, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili commented on the initiative that ex Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili introduced for rehabilitating and reviving the resort of Tskaltubo, Imereti Region.

“For decades Tskaltubo failed to return the function that it had previously. Thanks to the initiative by Bidzina Ivanishvili, it is realistic to fully employ this potential. This is am example how state-minded person can change the whole region and I am sure we will see real results in the near future. This is not only Tskaltubo rehabilitation project. Revival of this resort will bring unprecedented effect onto the whole region. New job places will be created and new opportunities will be provided”, Maia Tskitishvili said.

Legislative regulations will be applied in relation to culture monuments, the vice Prime Minister noted.

As to infrastructural projects, the Minister talked about construction of houses for refugees and other ongoing works.

“There were several cases, when the Authorities were trying to sell these hotels. There were several investment obligations too, but, regretfully, they failed. Therefore, this resort requires huge investments after 30 years and neither domestic nor foreign investors have managed to fulfill this mission. Fortunately, we will have other reality in the shortest period”, Maia Tskitishvli noted
