Number of tourists visiting Georgia increases 4.3% in March 2019

Georgia hosted 328,486 tourists in March 2019, showing an increase of 4.3% year-on-year (y/y) announces the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA).
The countries with the most significant increase were:
- Switzerland (+154)
- Israel (+73%)
- China (+57.2%)
- Kazakhstan (+50.1%)
- Saudi Arabia (+34.1%)
A positive trend was maintained by visitors from the European Union:
- Slovakia (+102.9%)
- Latvia (+82.1%)
- The Czech Republic (+76.3%)
- Poland (+55.9%)
- Lithuania (+43.2%)
- Germany (+31.3%)
During January-March of 2019 Georgia hosted 1,617,548 international visitors, that is 2.2% year-on-year increase, says the GNTA.
How did Georgia benefit from more visitors?
In January-February 2019 international tourism revenue reached $333.7 million that is $15 million more compared to the same period of 2018.
